Sustainable FarmingWinemaker: Alejandro Canovas |
“A wine at altitude is very different to a wine at sea level” explains Alejandro Canovas winemaker at Accuro Winery. Alejandro is passionate about harmony, balance and structure. For him, it's what makes his wines unique expressions of the singular, stunning Mendozan terroir.
The extreme altitude of the sites – 1200m and 1750m respectively for Uco and Cafayate valleys – a soil profile of low fertility glacial and alluvial wash from the Andean Cordillera, scarce rainfall, with well-timed spring melt and enormous diurnal temperature difference ensure low yielding fruit of intense flavour, character and physiological ripeness.
The Accuro range of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and the remarkably big Malbec Blend Riserva are all beautiful expressions of Alejandro's craft and the rugged land from which they come.
