Traditional Vineyard PracticesWinemakers: Mike & Christo Edwards |
|
Family owned and operated by the Edwards brothers, Mike and Christo. Mike makes the wines, meanwhile Christo looks after the vineyard. Their picturesque 25 hectare vineyard is now home to some of the region’s most elegant and vibrant award winning wines. The plantings include: Cabernet Sauvignon (7.8ha), Shiraz (5.2ha), Sauvignon Blanc (4.6ha), Chardonnay (3.5ha), Semillon (2.7ha) and Merlot (1ha).
The boys have Margaret River running through their veins. They are keen surfers and the regular board meetings usually mean something else. The viticulture and winemaking is strengthened by the close brotherly relationship, and their love for the region where they grew up.
The vineyards were first planted in 1993 by the boys late father Brian, a former top physiotherapist with the premiership winning West Coast Eagles. Also a keen flight enthusiast and being a child raised with the help of Legacy, Brian. against the odds flew his Tiger Moth 'Matilda along the Kangaroo route from the United Kingdom to Australia to raise funds for Legacy. The Tiger Moth now rests in the beautiful modern cellar door.
