Jumilla D.O. Murcia, Spain
Organic Viticulture
Winemaker: Elena Pacheco

Viña Elena is located in the north of Murcia. This family-run bodega dates back to 1948 when the current generation’s grandfather Francisco began making wine from his modest winepress at the family estate.

The region’s predominant grape variety is Monastrell. Its perfect habitat is in the region’s unique terroir, which fulfils three fundamental requirements, the soil, the climate and varietal composition. This combination helps the grapes to maximise their unique characteristics of colour and flavour, which in turn has become synonymous with quality.

The Estancia del Silencio project adds a new dimension to Monastrell as a whole. The best fruit is sourced from organically farmed vineyards, ranging from 10 to 35 years in age, and bursting with intensity and the style is youthful and delicious.

Organic cultivation is relatively easy in Jumilla due to the Mediterranean climate and the unique indigenous variety that’s perfectly adapted to the conditions: Monastrell. This exceptional variety goes into making our attractive organic wines that please the most sophisticated palate.
