Mount Torrens, Adelaide Hills
Minimal Intervention
Winemaker: Michael Sykes

Lobethal Road stands 475 metres above sea level and is alone in the north-east corner of the Adelaide Hills. The vineyards were first planted in 1998 by Dave Neyle and Inga Lidums. They are nurtured with modern, environmentally sustainable practices, minimal intervention and input throughout the entire winemaking journey aimed at highlighting the ultimate expression of the unique location in the Hills. The cool climate, and the classic grape varieties that thrive in the region.

The entire site of the Mount Torrens vineyard and cellar door operates off the grid, supplying its own water as well as generating all its power by solar energy. Production 'miles' are minimal with their winemaking carried out just a kilometre down the road.

Lobethal Road's wines have been regularly awarded top accolades in capital city and regional wine shows, by leading Australian critics, and selected for prestigious wines lists both domestically and internationally.

Rated a 5 Star Winery and one of James Halliday's Ten Dark Horses in the Halliday Wine Companion 2020.
