Vinho Verde is the biggest DOC of Portugal, up in the cool, rainy, verdant north west. The vines grow in fertile, granite soils along rivers that flow from the mountains of the east to burst out into the ocean between golden surf beaches. Hard conditions for ripening result in a crunchy, fresh green wine style.

Zarague is a very recent project with Sara Garrido Ramos at the wheel. Sara spent time making wine in Australia before returning home to embark on Zarague. Planting began in 2013, increasing every year since. The first wine to be released was the 2017 Alvarinho. In 2018 another native variety, Loureira, was produced in small numbers.
